1. Community Led Total Sanitation Project with Plan Nepal Sunsari program Unit
Narrative description of Project: Partnership with Plan Nepal, Program Unit Sunsari this organization has been implementing this project from the year 2009 in 9 VDCs of Sunsari District. The working VDCs are Aurawani, Simariya, Bhaluwa, Tanamuna and Babiya, Purwa Kusha, Chimidi, Ramgunj Belgacchia, Amahi Bela VDCs This project based on Community Lead Total Sanitation (CLTS) approach where major activities consists awareness raising, managing of community waste and maintaining of hygiene. Under this project approach, community are mobilized through group saving& credit and institutional development, mobilization of child club and its institutional development, besides, are encouraged and empowered to structure their community for declaring Defecation Free Village. The approach believes changing practices and belief by sensitizing people not by subsidy for construction of toilets. So the community mobilization is the prime in this project. Realizing community people through tools and technique not only disgust them but led to sustainable use of latrine and good hygiene practice.
The output of the Plan Nepal supported project is summarized below: • A total of 42 new tube well installed • A total of 375 old tube well rehabilitated • A total 5 slot refresher training organized • A total of 34 event of sanitation promotion workshop organized • A CLTS TOT training organized for volunteers • Total 60 groups supported sanitary materials • A total of 3 event organized water safety planning training • No of 34 sanitation sensitization board established • A Total 200 tube well water quality tested • A week long sanitation celebrated • No of 2 event cultural show organized • A total of 3 slot basic book keeping training organized • Total 484 health message board estalished • A total of 5 slots of training to VDC staff • A total of 10 event organized for award declaration • A total of 8 events of upcoming planning and social audit conducted. • A total of 19 child club formed and mobilized, trained • A total 1 event organized monitoring visit with stakeholders

2. Koshi Early Reconery Project with UNDP
Narrative Description of project:
In partnership with UNDP, this organization has implemented various livelihood based activities related to agriculture and income generating. Community mobilization, income generation, awareness raising, trainings, orientation, workshops, infrastructure development, cash crop production and other livelihood based activities carried out 6 months recovery projects. During this 6 months partnership and project implementation process, a total of 30 groups, of 3 VDCs of Koshi flood affected area has been associated in groups. The recovery project has given remarkable achievement by providing off seasonal vegetable farming training with business plan so that returnees can work with entrepreneurship in farming also. The construction market place centre also provided opportunity to grow local level market place and grown access to market. Now farmers are hopeful and confident to continue their production which was the aim of recovery programme. Beside that total no of 13 fish pond rehabilitated providing sufficient support to produce fish for their livelihood. The 3 link road constructed which made easy movement of farmers in the rural road.

3. Micro Enterprise Development Program
Narrative description of Project: The project focuses on the Koshi flood affected communities of flood affected areas namely Shreepur, Paschim Kusaha and Haripur VDCs of Sunsari District. The total targeted beneficiaries of the project were 410 later on it was made 500 during the review of proposal and the duration of the project was from 1st June 2010 to 31st December 2010. The project activities were carried out for the establishment of micro entrepreneur based upon local resources, capital, skill, and traditional practices and indigenous knowledge mobilization and as per model and concept of MEDEP. The major goal of the project was to support flood affected community to establish and run micro enterprise business to uplift their socio economical status and sustain the enterprise. Various social mobilization activities were conducted during the project duration which ensures the MEDEP model implementation process like identification of beneficiaries, household survey, entrepreneur’s capacity building trainings (TOPE/TOSE), group formation, counseling, meeting, interaction, skill development trainings and support of machinery, equipments and regular meeting and follow up.
Despite the revised budget, total 216 entrepreneur established and they are working in the their field. The entrepreneur are engaged in small tea shop to computer desktop working. Others are engaged in production of chalk, candle and chips.
The output of the MEDEP project is summarized below: • Till September 2010 a total of 216 new entrepreneur established among which 129 from skill development and 89 from DEDC supported Income generation fund • A total of 483 people capacitated from 17 slots of TOPE and 393 people capacitated from 15 slots of TOSE trainings • A total of 40 people started a entrepreneur of Bamboo MUDHA Making • A total of 30 people started a entrepreneur of Candle Making • A total of 31 people started a entrepreneur of Chalk Making • A total of 28 people started a entrepreneur of Potato chips and Dhungri Papad Making • A total of 17 people started a entrepreneur of Rickshaw Pulling • A total of 9 people started a entrepreneur of Computer service • A total of 53 people started a entrepreneur of Pig raising • A total of 8 people started a entrepreneur of small scale tea and snacks shop

4. IMPROVING THE LIVELIHOODS OF POOR FARMER AND DISADVANTAGED GROUPS IN EASTEN DEVELOPMENT REGION with DEPROSC/ADB
Narrative description of Project: Government of Nepal and ADB signed an agreement on 23 February 2007, to implement "Improving Livelihood for Poor Farmers and Disadvantaged Groups in the Eastern Development Region of Nepal. The project is being implemented in conjunction with the ongoing Commercial Agriculture Development Project of ADB and Government of Nepal is the principle associated project. The project will to bridge and expose the target groups with CADP, CAA and other service providers. In order to materialize the inclusion, awareness and literacy campaigns and economic promotion, Local implementing partner NGOs/CBOs will be mobilized.
Community for Social Development Centre (CSDC) is selected to work as local implementing partner for the JFPR project and is assigned responsibility to facilitate to the community level self help groups, mobilize the groups with social mobilization, planning, monitoring and other necessary skills, coordinate with government agencies, CADP, CAA and meet reporting requirement of ADB and govt. The agreement between DEPROSC and CSDC.
Community for Social Development Centre (CSDC) has being implementing the JFPR Project in 5 VDCs of Sunsari District. The JFPR Project aim to bring benefits for weaker groups such as marginal farmers, the landless, dalits, and ethnic minority populations not covered under ongoing CADP project. The Project activity will bring underprivileged communities of the project area into development process by creating opportunities for them.
Thus the objectives of the project are to (i) improve the livelihoods of the rural poor in the agriculture sector and (ii) increase their participation in the development process in the targeted VDCs . The purpose of the Project is : to reach 1070 very poor people in targeted VDCs of sunsari district, to increase their incomes, and to enhance skills for effective participation in development efforts.
The Project includes four components: (A) Social Mobilization, Training and Adult Literacy, (B) Strengthening of Income Generation, (C) Support to Capacity Building of Stakeholders and (D) Project Management, Monitoring and Audit. The outputs of the project are:
- 43 new existing self-help groups capacitated and mobilized,
- 1070 people’s skills on leadership, literacy and numeracy levels and self-esteem level enhanced,
- 1070 families linked with micro-finance services,
- At least 1070 families, which are below the poverty scale at the time of baseline survey, come out of it.
- Capacity of at 43 self help group and cooperatives improved
- Awareness campaign organized for 1070 poor people.
